TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Signature Healthcare took advantage of the snow as they hosted their Winterfest event for community members to interact with elderly residents.
Those who took part in the event were able to build snowmen, create snow paintings and tic-tac-toe with all events taking place outside.
Signature said this was also a great way for the community to visit family members who live at the facility.
“We’re still restricted with visitors but it doesn’t mean they can’t come outside,” said Signature Healthcare RN, Robin Heng. “Our elders love to watch families and children play, so this was a perfect opportunity to invite children and families to come out.”
Winterfest had over 50 people show up for the event.
Heng says they were surprised by the huge turnout and were grateful for everyone who showed their support.
