TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute is offering family and community members the chance to interact with the residents of its nursing home on Sunday by hosting an event-filled WinterFest from 1-3 p.m.
Activities include building a snowman outside a resident’s window — Signature will provide the coal, the carrots, scarves, and hats, as well as cookies and hot chocolate. It’s also providing colored water so participants can “paint” the snowy ground to create an art display for the residents to enjoy. on Participants will also be able to play Window Tic-Tac-Toe with residents.
“This is all about fun,” said Robyn Heng, Behavioral Health Specialist for Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute. “The snow and the cold, on top of the required guidelines we must follow for the utmost safety of our residents during this pandemic, can make it challenging to keep our residents engaged, but we are a creative bunch! So, when it snows, it’s time for a WinterFest!”
Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute is at 3500 Maple Ave. All participants should wear face masks.
