TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people have been arrested for attempted murder after shots were fired at Terre Haute police during a pursuit early Friday morning, according to Police Chief Shawn Keen.

Damon White, 25, of Indianapolis and Manyari Anthony, 17, of Fishers were taken into custody after officers attempted a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle believed to be involved in an earlier shots-fired call.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, and shots were at officers from the vehicle starting near 14th and Walnut streets.

“During a nearly 20 minute pursuit, officers were shot at by occupants of the vehicle at four different locations,” Keen said in a statement.

The pursuit ended in the area of 13th and College streets. No serious injuries were reported, and no officers fired shots, according to Keen.

White and Anthony were booked into the Vigo County Jail. Anthony was booked as an adult based on the charge. Two additional occupants of the vehicle were questioned; however, no charges have been filed against them at this time.

White was also charged with armed robbery in connection to a May 6 robbery of the Jiffy Mini-Mart located at 1301 Poplar Street.
