VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two teams were shooting hoops for a local fundraiser.

South and North Vermillion staff along with staff from WTWO, went head to head for the 4H Scholarship Fundraiser. The 4H Scholarship Fundraiser is for North and South Vermillion senior students that participate in 4H. A thousand dollars goes toward their college expenses.

Lauren Bernett said she was an 8-year member of the 4H program and now attends Purdue after receiving the scholarship.

“Sometimes it’s really hard to pay for school. So it’s so important especially for kids from rural communities to have even a little bit of money to go to school,” Bernett said.

“Kind of shows a community getting together and it’s a great way to support the younger kids and maybe get them involved in 4-H. It’s a really great program,” Annabelle Gray Co-President of the Vermillion County Junior Leaders said

“To have North Vermillion and South Vermillion people be able to connect under one community and that really shows up in the fair with 4H,” Easton Terry senior with South Vermillion said.

South and North Vermillion staff team won the game.
