Shelburn hosts 1st annual ‘Discover the Magic of Christmas’ on Saturday

SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The town of Shelburn will be offering a Christmas bazaar, Santa with live reindeer lighting the community tree, a silent auction, door prizes and homemade chili this Saturday in its first annual event, “Discover the Magic of Christmas in Downtown Shelburn.”

Local vendors will set up shop in the Downtown Community Building beginning at 11 a.m. During the bazaar, attendees can bid on items in a silent auction. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

At 5 p.m., Santa will arrive by firetruck at the community Christmas tree at the corner of Mill and Railroad Streets. He’ll light the tree and bring two of his favorite reindeer. Cookies and hot chocolate courtesy the Shelburn Police Reserve Association will be available to those who meet and get photos with Santa and his reindeer at his sleigh.

This event is free and was underwritten by the Shelburn Old Fashioned Days Committee, Shelburn Park Board, Shelburn Town Board, Shelburn Volunteer Fire Department, Shelburn Police Reserves Association and other residents.

Proceeds will go toward the 2021 Shelburn Old Fashioned Days Festival.
