SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana senator Todd Young visited Sullivan on Monday following Friday night’s tornado to tour the damage.

Young said it was devastating to see the destruction as he arrived in the city. Young also said he heard a lot about how the community was coming together during this difficult time.
Young commented that he could really feel that togetherness on the ground here and that it was very inspiring to see.

“My sense is this community has never been stronger, it’s never been tighter and it’s never felt more love for one another than they have right now,” said Young.

The senator said he’s been in contact with all relevant agencies and says he’ll work with his colleagues on Capitol Hill to advance any declaration the governor seeks.
