CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Police crews are working a crash on I-70 westbound that’s causing traffic to slow Wednesday morning.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, a commercial semi-truck was traveling westbound on I-70 near the 17-mile marker when a mechanical issue caused the vehicle to travel into the median where it rolled over.

The driver of the semi told police that as they were attempting to change lanes his steering froze up causing the crash. The driver was taken to a local hospital. No word on the severity of the driver’s injuries. No other injuries to passengers were reported.

Police had traffic reduced to one lane for a time while crews worked to clean up the incident. As of 11:30 a.m. all lanes of I-70 westbound had been reopened.
