TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: As of 6:53 p.m. Sgt. Matt Ames reports that all lanes of I-70 westbound had been re-opened.

Original: A semi-truck that caught fire on Interstate 70 caused traffic to be shut down for a time Tuesday evening.

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the closure is near mile marker 14 of I-70. Initially both westbound lanes were closed, however as of 6:15 p.m., the left passing lane has been opened to traffic.

Ames asked drivers to avoid the area if possible as emergency crews work to clean up the scene.
