SEELYVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Some Seeleyville Waterworks customers have noticed their water is brown after a water main break last week; however, the utility assures the water is safe to drink.

Due to the water main break, Seeleyville Waterworks will be flushing hydrants until further notice. Flushing hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

A representative of the utility explained the flushing had to be done in a specific order, starting at the treatment plant.

Doing laundry is discouraged in the flushing areas. Customers may experience low water pressure and discolored water throughout the process. This should be a temporary issue.

To receive the latest information about flushing areas, customers are urged to sign up for text alerts by texting “SEELYVILLEWW” to 888-777.
