TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTW0/WAWV) — Before Terre Haute North took to battle with Terre Haute South in Friday night’s high-school football game on Terre Haute South’s field, all united to honor the Vigo County School Corporation’s food services staff members who created a grab-and-go meal program to feed children when schools closed on March 13.

The crew collaborated with area churches, nonprofit organizations and government employees to create a service delivering breakfast and lunch five days a week for every Vigo County child who wanted meals.

By the end of the summer, they served 327,012 meals to Vigo County children.
