TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is warning local residents about a phone scam.
In a post on social media, the sheriff’s office says the scammer is calling, pretending to be a Deputy, trying to collect money for a traffic citation.
Authorities say the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office will never call you regarding paying a fine. They say no other law enforcement agency will either.
