TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Salvation Army has several opportunities for emergency Christmas assistance this year. Intake days will be held next month for Shop with a Police Officer, Toys for Tots with the Marines, Adopt-a-family and food baskets.
Intake days for these programs will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 21, 22 and 23. Additional evening hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 22.
Participants should bring birth certificates for children 18 and under and social security numbers for all family members over 18. Household members should also bring picture ID and utility/rent bill.

The Salvation Army Terre Haute Food Drive is offered from 1 to 2 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month for up to 75 families. Participants should bring picture ID and proof of Vigo County residency. Enter vehicle from 8th street to back of building.
Regular food pantry hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Those who received food from the food drive are still eligible to receive food the same month on one of the Thursdays. Call (812) 235-0436 for a referral number.
