TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – With just a couple of days left before the holiday, the Salvation Army of Vigo County continues working to meet their fundraising goal.

The goal is to raise $125,000 in 42 days and they have $25,000 more left to raise.

Captain Jeremy Fingar says the giving rate this year is down by 42%. He says there are fourteen stations across the Terre Haute area for people who would like to donate.

The money is used to assist members of the community.

“We use the majority of our funds in direct service. When you give us a dollar, we help somebody with 88 cents. We make sure the people stay indoors, that they’re warm, that they’re safe, that they’re fed,” says Fingar.

People can still donate virtually even after Christmas on the organization’s website.
