TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Racer and Rose-Hulman student Mandy Chick participated and placed 5th at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 18.

In her first season participating in the ARCA Menards racing series, Chick started in 25th place and ended the race placing 5th in the Daytona 200 race at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. Representing Rose-Hulman, Chick was driving the #74 Rose-Hulman Institute of technology Chevrolet race car.

Chick is now shifting gears and focusing on her studies as a mechanical engineering major for the rest of the quarter but does have more upcoming races later in the year. The final results of the race for the Daytona International Speedway can be found on the ARCA Menards Daytona 200 page.
