TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — reTHink held a rummage sale Saturday to try and raise money for their organization.

reTHink is an organization that is trying to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills through education, awareness, plastic up-cycling, gardening, composting, and zero waste merchandise.

This sale had items that ranged from clothes, antiques, and books to homemade food and drinks. The organization also wanted to take advantage of is an increase of traffic in this area due to the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival.

This was also another way to get the general public to be able to experience what reTHink has to offer. Jenny Powell is the operations manager at reTHink, and she expresses her favorite thing about events like these.

“I love being able to connect them and share what I know about reTHink and why we are here. That’s my favorite thing to do is to inform people about reTHink, what we do, and how they can help if they want,” said Powell.

Powell also wanted to add that she always loves the food at these events as well.

“I always anticipate these events because of all of the amazing homemade foods that get brought it. I have yet to try one thing that wasn’t amazing. It is truly incredible how lucky we are to have donations like those at our events,” added Powell.

There are boxes of things that were left over from this sale that are free to all outside of their building.
