VIGO CO., Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Authorities released renderings of the future Vigo County Security Center Wednesday.
The 138,300 sq. ft. facility will include 504 rated beds, with 432 for general population, and additional beds for medical/special needs and holding cells.
The estimated $63.5 million dollar jail will be located on the back portion the former golf complex at 500 West Honey Creek Drive.
County Commissioner President Brad Anderson said the design will now go to bidding, beginning Thursday.
Vigo County Council must also approve the funding for the jail on September 10th.
