VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Legendary Terre Haute broadcaster Martin Plascak died on Saturday.

Plascak served as the WBOW-AM radio news director for 21 years. He was widely known as the ‘News Voice of the Wabash Valley’.

Plascak was one of the most decorated broadcasters in our area. He received the ‘Sagamores of the Wabash’ award from former Indiana Gov. Evan Bayh in 1996.

In that same year, Plascak was inducted into the Associated Press Hall of Fame and was honored by an Indiana General Assembly Resolution.

In 2014, he was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame.
