Record shop ready for grand opening in 12 Points

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Calling all music lovers. A new record store will open this weekend in Terre Haute.

The Local Vinyl will sell records, art and apparel in the historic 12 Points neighborhood.

“The neighborhood is on the rise,” owner Eleanor Jones said. “I’m excited to be one of the first businesses here; to be able to witness all of the upcoming businesses and events and just the revitalization of 12 Points in general.”

The new shop will celebrate its grand opening Saturday with a festival. Live music, comedians, art vendors and food trucks will be on hand from noon to 5 p.m. The area of 13th Street from Maple to Phillips will be closed for the event.

Admission to the festival will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children will be admitted for free.
