TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – An organization that promotes reading in Indiana announced details Monday on how Vigo County children can get free books.

Thanks to a $250,000 grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is coming to Vigo County.

Hoosiers Read is teaming up with organizations like the United Way to make it happen. The program will provided Vigo County children through age five with a free book each month.

The books will be shipped directly to their doors.

Hoosiers Read Founder Ben Battaglia says there are already 500 kids signed up and he hopes many more families will register. Families can sign their children up at hoosiersread.org.
