WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Linton man has been arrested and charged with stalking and invasion of privacy.
According to Washington Police, 39-year-old Lance Simmons was arrested on November 3, following an investigation into allegations of stalking. Police said Simmons had been released on a $25,000 cash bond in October for a burglary charge when the incident occurred. Court records show that a no-contact order had been filed in relation to that case on October 13.
A victim told police that she had found a suspected tracking device and had seen Simmons in her neighborhood.
Following further investigation police located and arrested Simmons last Friday. Simmons faces the following charges in relation to the arrest;
- Stalking where defendant violates a protective order
- A level 5 felony
- Invasion of privacy
- A class A misdemeanor
Court records show that during an initial hearing Monday morning in Daviess County Superior Court, a jury trial was scheduled for March 19, 2024.
