SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County residents can soon visit a well-known corner to get a taste of delicious Pizza King pizza.

Owners of Kennedy Trucking Incorporated said the idea to house a restaurant came when they realized how much they missed the old Sullivan Pizza King.

“Years ago Sullivan had a Pizza King that we really liked, and now, the nearest location is up in Terre Haute, so we decided to open one,” Jess Kennedy, KTI co-owner, said.

The restaurant will be part of the KTI Korner, located at 535 East SR 48 in Shelburn, the building sits at the corner of SR 48 and US 41.

Jess credited her husband Mark Kennedy with the idea and being the driving factor in making the dream a reality. Jess said they began renovating their building in December to make room for the restaurant and plan to open by the end of March.

“We’re definitely hiring, we need cooks, bartenders, servers, and dishwashers,” Jess said.

The restaurant will include dine-in and drive-through options and a banquet room for parties and gatherings. A bar for those 21 and older will also be available.
