TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Rose-Hulman has announced a series of free concert performances as part of their Discovery Music Series for the 2023-2024 academic year.

According to a release from RHIT, many of this year’s shows will feature the talents of the college’s Artist-in-Residence for 2023-2024, classical concert pianist Clare Longendyke D.M.

Longendyke has studied on both coasts of the country, as well as abroad during her training. Earning degrees at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, she was an Arts Scholar at Paris’ École Normale de Musique through the Fullbright-Harriet Hale Woolley Award and received her master’s and doctoral of music degrees from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.

“As Rose-Hulman’s 2023-24 Artist-in-Residence, I’m thrilled to be a part of the college’s already vibrant cultural community and will eagerly apply my talents as a classical concert pianist, educator, and concert curator to the role,” Longendyke said. “I am most excited to work with Rose-Hulman’s exceptional student body in classroom visits this fall, in the world premieres of their solo piano compositions next spring, and in my collaboration with the Rose-Hulman String Orchestra in May. It will be a pleasure to enhance the cultural atmosphere on campus while fostering creativity for all at Rose-Hulman and in the city of Terre Haute.”
