Pedestrian struck and killed by semi-truck in Parke County identified by police

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Parke County officials have identified the pedestrian who was killed Friday evening after being struck by a flat-bed semi-truck.

According to a report from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation showed that Aaron Froschauer, 50, Atlanta, Ind., stepped into the path of an oncoming semi traveling on US-41 South. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, Tyler Hall, 25, was transferred to Union Hospital in Clinton, Ind., where he took a chemical test for police. According to investigators, drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

US 41 South from the Lyford T to County Road 900 South was closed for several hours.
