TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A male pedestrian was flown to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday around 9:20 p.m.

Sugar Creek Fire Department said in a social media post that the male pedestrian was crossing National Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for severe injuries to his left leg. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, according to the post.

Sugar Creek Fire Department, Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, West Terre Haute Police Department, Indiana State Police, Trans Care ambulance, and Air Evac assisted.
