TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With downtown Terre Haute still continuing to grow the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board noticed issues with parking during certain times.

The Improvement Board has partnered with the Terre haute Convention Center to help with those issues. The Cherry Street parking garage will now offer free parking daily between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The move will make it easier to park downtown and enjoy lunch at your favorite spot.

“With the Petty Pit Stop opening, the Terminal, Copper bar, even as far as Saratoga down the road it makes access to downtown Terre Haute a lot easier. So, we want those restaurants full and want people to have easy access to get to them as well,” Vigo County Commissioner Chris Switzer said.

Switzer also said they do not know how long this free parking will last, but you can stay updated by checking the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board’s Facebook page.
