MONTEZUMA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Montezuma man has been arrested after law enforcement said he was reckless in shooting off a handgun outside of his residence.

According to Parke County Sheriff Jason Frazier, the incident occurred at 2:34 p.m. on Saturday.

Deputies reportedly arrived on the scene and took Phillip E. Kiner, 20, of Montezuma into custody.

Court records show that Parke County prosecutors have charged Kiner with the following;

  • Criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon
    • A level 6 felony
  • Criminal mischief
    • A class B misdemeanor
  • Disorderly conduct
    • A class B misdemeanor
