PARIS, Ill. (WTWO) — Paris Union School District No. 95 is welcoming two new Board of Education members to the community.

In a press release, District Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Larson said Chris Milam and Marc Dalbey will be succeeding Amy Isaf and Jamey Littleton, two longstanding members preparing to retire.

With the new hires, the board of education followed guiding principles set by the Illinois Association of School Boards. Those guidelines include:

  • Developing a strategic plan
  • Engaging with the community
  • Employing an effective superintendent
  • Delegating authority
  • Monitoring performance
  • Taking responsibility for itself

To do this, the school district implemented numerous workshops, community forums, and targeted initiatives to build relationships with students, teachers, and community members.

Board members worked closely with Milam and Dalbey to provide a smooth transition into their new roles and maintain the school district’s excellence.

Milam and Dalbey are set to be sworn in on April 26 at 5 p.m. at the Board of Education reorganization meeting. Both have regularly attended board meetings and IASB training sessions prior to being sworn in.
