TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The future of Vigo County School Corporation high schools is on the mind of local parents.
VCSC currently has three renovation or rebuilding options for the facilities. Data collected by VCSC suggested that Option 3 is less likely to pass. Option 3 would result in a complete rebuild of the schools.
However, VCSC Superintendent Robert Haworth said that this option is not completely off the table.
With this announcement, parents still are wondering what’s in store for the future of VCSC high schools.
Sam Martland’s son currently attends Terre Haute North Vigo High School, and he said that he’s followed along the high school renovation timeline since its beginning.
Martland said that he would get behind any option that is put forward, but that he liked the idea of potentially preserving parts of the high schools in there current state.
“I don’t know if Option 3 would’ve been a good idea or not,” Martland said. “I like the idea of saving some of the resources that re locked up in the buildings if they can be made to work.”
