VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An impaired driver stop in Vermillion County lead to gun charges against a convicted felon.
Dustin Stevens, 22, of Terre Haute, was pulled over Sunday morning just south of Brouilett’s Creek on State Road 63 for suspected operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the Vermillion County Sheriff’s office, Stevens agreed to and failed field sobriety tests. He also informed deputies he had marijuana and paraphernalia in his vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies also discovered a loaded 9mm pistol. Stevens did not have a carry license, and he was also found to be a convicted felon.
Stevens was transported to the Vermillion County Jail on charges of felon in possession of a handgun, OVWI and possession of paraphernalia.
