SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO) — Our Father’s Arms has officially broke ground on their new building after its destruction from March tornadoes.

Our Father’s Arms is a food bank and clothes closet in Sullivan that distributes free food and clothes to those in need in the area. They have been a staple in the community since the late 1980s.

This building is being built in the same exact location it sat before its destruction so that its legacy stays alive.

Don Ransford is the board president for Our Father’s Arms, and he expresses his excitement to make this resource available again for the Sullivan community.

“We are excited with all of the support to the resources that have come our way. We are ready to build this building now,” said Ransford.

The plan is for the building to be finished by the end of the year, but there is no official timeline for the building as of now.
