TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Reach Services wrapped up ‘Operation Vanguard’ on Sunday.
This outreach event gathers volunteers to camp out in front of the Reach Services building for an entire weekend to raise awareness for homeless veterans.
John Burk, Reach Service’s Supervisor of Veterans Affairs, said that the event had a nice turnout and the group was able to raise plenty of supplies for homeless veterans.
“The money that we raised from that helps us to support these veterans open up a warming center so during the coldest parts of the winter they have somewhere warm to sleep,” Burk said.
Burk said that Reach Services is always accepting donations such as winter clothing for homeless veterans at their facility.
They are located at 1400 Hulman Street in Terre Haute.
