VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday the arrest of a man involved in the crash that occurred Sunday in the western part of Vigo County for intoxicated driving causing death. Officials also identified the teen killed in the wreck.

Police said Anthony Elkins, 15, West Terre Haute, was riding a dirt bike eastbound on Concannon Road before colliding with a pick up truck that was traveling westbound. Elkins was pronounced dead at the scene, Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse said.

The driver of the GMC pickup truck that hit Elkins, Brent Robertson, 49, Clinton, Ind., has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, Plasse said. Robertson was initially taken to Regional Hospital and was later booked into the Vigo County Jail.
