FARMERBSURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Shelburn man was injured in a semi vs. car accident on U.S. 41 on Friday afternoon.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, the semi driver, a 70-year-old Vincennes man, was traveling southbound on U.S. 41 behind the car when a light turned yellow. The semi-driver expected the car to drive through but rear-ended the car driver when they chose to stop.
The semi-driver was cited for following too closely and the car driver, an 82-year-old Shelburn man, was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.
Ames noted that the crash caused traffic to narrow to one lane for about 15 minutes while crews cleaned up the scene.
