VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– One person was taken to the hospital after a semi vs. car crash caused brief traffic delays in Southern Vigo County.

According to Sgt. Matt Ames with Indiana State Police, the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 41 and E. Harlan Drive around 5:45 p.m. The semitrailer ran a red light while traveling north, causing the crash. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital.

U.S. 41 was closed for around 15 minutes following the crash, but reopened shortly after. The crash is still under investigation. The Honey Creek Fire Department and the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office worked with ISP on the scene.
