ODON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the weather cools and September comes to a close, more and more houses in the community are getting… spooky.

As Halloween decorations begin appearing at neighbors’ homes, some of them may be doing more than simply decorating. A number of homes are actually using their decorations to make a difference in a child’s life.

The Skeletons for St. Jude national fundraiser is underway from now until Halloween. The goal is to raise $100,000 dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

An Odon couple spoke with us about how they are taking part in the program.

They have numerous decorations set up as well as a QR code in their yard that allows visitors to easily donate to St. Jude.

“We looked into it and thought it was a cause that maybe we could help out with,” David Self said. “We love Halloween and love to decorate, and so we decided that we’d give it a shot.”

You can view their decorations on North West Street in Odon, but donations can also be made online here.
