Oaktown man arrested for murder after police discover his wife’s body in their home

OAKTOWN, Ind., (WTWO/WAWV) — An Oaktown, Ind., man was arrested on murder charges around Friday night after police found his wife dead in their home earlier that day.

Kevin Hatfield, 44, of Oaktown, Ind., was reportedly not at his home on North Scott Road in Knox County when officers discovered his wife’s body. Jasmin Lee Hatfield, 46, also of Oaktown, had allegedly suffered severe body wounds and died earlier that day, according to Knox County Sheriff Doug Vantlin.

After authorities named Kevin as a suspect, he was pulled over and detained by Sullivan County deputies and an Indiana State Trooper.

Kevin was then taken by Knox County Deputies to Knox County Jail where he was booked for his potential involvement in Jasmin’s death. He is currently facing a charge for murder.
