BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Northview Marching Knights have qualified for their 38th trip to state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday, October 28.

Northview Marching Knights have qualified for state finals every year of the school’s 40-year history, except one time. They also didn’t participate in 2020 when state finals was canceled due to COVID. Students have been practicing since the beginning of June, and have put in hundreds of hours of practice.

The show’s them will be “Snakepit”, they are incorporating that with snake decorations and music featuring Sam Smith, Tchaikovsky, and Project Trio.

Band Director Dominic Thompson said it’s a great opportunity for the students.

“It’s so important to this community and for the school that we continue to be successful at the state level. The kids really take a lot of pride in that, it’s something that connects them with our alumni. In many cases that’s their friends or their family that were in the band even 40 years ago and it also gives us an opportunity to push them to much higher level of excellence,” Thompson said.

Northview Marching Knights qualified for state finals by receiving a gold division rating at Regionals in 2023.

Admission is $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for students and pre-school. Only mobile tickets (no paper tickets) will be sold, and a smartphone will be needed to present tickets for entry.
