Northview High School students make a difference in their community

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – High School students in Brazil also found a way to give back to their community.

Northview High School band cleaned up 25 miles of road in Clay County. It was a part of the Brazil Rotary Club’s 86th Annual Rotary Celebration. Over 100 students and volunteers worked to take part in the clean up event.

Northview band director Dominic Thompson says it’s important to give back to a community that continues to help them.

“This community gives back to us so much through fundraising through support with our performances,” Thompson said. “Having the opportunity for us to do it the other way and say thank you for all you’ve done for us and we care about Brazil and Clay County is important.”

Thompson says he hopes his students will recognize that taking care of your community will always be important.
