VERMILLION CO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — All North Vermillion Falcon athletes and coaches are receiving high praise from the IHSAA for showing great sportsmanship.

Athletic Director, Martin Brown, said the school received a perfect score from the state for outstanding sportsmanship. The program ended with a 113 out of 100.

To begin the season, the school gets a score of 100. Points are removed if coaches, students, administrators, or fans are ejected or receive a foul (unsportsmanlike conduct, technical, etc.)

Other pillars also go into consideration, NVF host several programs and camps to help kids with special needs including, a winter special Olympics program, track and field camp along with a competition day and more.

“We take pride in it. Servant leadership is the byproduct of building character with our students. We want to build good students who turn become good people and do good things in the world,” Brown said.

He adds out of the entire state, between 10-18 schools get this recognition.

We want to congratulate our North Vermillion Falcon Athletes and Coaches for receiving a perfect score of 113 out of 100 “A+” from the IHSAA for outstanding sportsmanship last year. We have topped off a great year in 2020-21 in championship teams/players with the most important award of “Outstanding Sportsmanship and Character” as an Athletic department school and community. This is why we can honestly say It is a great day to be a FALCON!!!!!
