SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A ribbon-cutting for the Lover’s Lane Loop in Sullivan is scheduled for Friday evening.
The new addition to the Sullivan Greenway System was funding by INDOT with the goal of supporting Sullivan’s outdoor recreation, connectivity and walkability.
The loop will connect downtown Sullivan to the public library, extending to Washington Street to the intersection of Section Street and Washington.
Michele Smith has lived in Sullivan for 27 years, and said that walking around downtown has been a hobby of hers. Smith said that she believes this new walkway is a great improvement for Sullivan.
“Having the new sidewalks and a new route to take makes it really great,” Smith said. “Everything that’s been done is just going to keep bringing people to our downtown area.”
The ribbon-cutting will take place directly outside of the the Sullivan County Public Library on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
