TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce announced a new partnership Wednesday to assist Terre Haute women in business.

The Chamber plans to team up with the organization, Engage Mentoring for the series, “Project Lead for Women.”

The initiative is meant to help women in business develop skills like leadership. The project is intended to pair participants with an established business woman, and allows them to discuss issues they’ve encountered, as well as offer them advice.

Lori Danielson, president of GoTime Coaching in Terre Haute is facilitating the program. She said Engage Mentoring is looking to assist current women in business, and those in the future as well.

“The really cool part about the program, is that for every professional female that gets involved, we’ll support an Ivy Tech student to get involved and receive 12 months of mentoring at no charge to them. So it really is a good way to attract talent and to support our workforce development and that skill building process here in the valley,” Danielson said.

Several Wabash Valley businesses have already signed on to participate in the program. To get involved, visit the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce or Engage Mentoring websites.
