TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new event brought a unique shopping experience with some family fun to Downtown Terre Haute, Friday evening.
The Terre Haute Night Market featured a range of local artisan vendors, selling their one-of-a-kind products, such as handmade jewelry, pottery, textiles, and art and crafts made from reclaimed materials. This event was the perfect place to find unique items and memorable gifts.
Those who attended also got to enjoy food vendors, entertainment by the band Midnight Motive, and Foam Homies for the kids.
Organizer Laken Richardson said it’s a great way to show support for local artisans.
“We want people to see the awesome things that we are able to do and allowed to do here in our hometown. And to support all of these vendors. They’re local artisans and these are like the backbone of our workforce,” Richardson said.
A portion of the proceeds from the event went to support the Vigo County CEO program, which teaches high school students about entrepreneurship and business skills.
The Terre Haute Night Market will be a recurring event throughout Terre Haute.
