TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The search for the next Vigo County School Corporation Superintendent takes more steps forward.
The Vigo County School Board set key dates in its search for its next leader.
The board set a tentative date of March 20th to hold its screening meeting of the candidates. This will be first time that board members will be able to review the candidates and discuss the candidates.
A second round of meetings will be held the first week of April to interview each candidate. It was recommended to the board to select two or three strong candidates that would proceed to the final interview process. That date is scheduled for April 17th.
All of the aforementioned meetings will be executive session which are not open to the public.
There’s an active survey where you can chime in on what you want in the superintendent search.
It’s a series of questions to gauge what the public wants. VCSB President Amy Lore encourages the public to take the survey.
“I hope as many people as possible take advantage of that,” Lore said. “We need to hear from the community.”
There have been two official Superintendent applications received so far and officials expect to receive more in the coming weeks. The deadline to apply is March 15th.
