New air flow units installed in local health facilities to help mitigate spread of viruses

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local health care system is using new air flow units to help mitigate the spread of viruses like COVID-19.

Energy Harness Corporation installed about 48 UVC units throughout Union Health’s facilities.

The units cycle air through UV light, eradicating viruses from the air. The devices were placed in areas like entry points, testing areas and waiting areas.

Energy Harness Representative Patricio Daneri says not only do these units fight COVID-19, but other viruses like the flu.

“We realize the COVID SARS-2 family is an airborne virus. Therefore the very best way to combat the virus at the moment is by recycling the air in a room with poor ventilation,” says Daneri.

Energy Harness Corporation says Union Health is the first health care system in Indiana to fully adopt the technology in its facilities.
