TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Nearly 1,000 Ivy Tech graduates from the Terre Haute and Greencastle campuses celebrated commencement Thursday evening.

The ceremony took place at Hulman Center at Indiana State University. Ivy Tech officials say collectively 982 graduates will earn approximately 1,325 credentials.

The graduates include more than 200 high school students from 27 West Central Indiana high schools who earned college credentials before graduating high school.

Ivy Tech’s Chancellor Lea Anne Crooks said this is an opportunity for the graduates to make a difference in our community.

“That’s why we do what we do, is to get them to the finish line. So, that they can go out into our community and make a difference,” Crooks stated.

Elizabeth Pearison served as the commencement speaker. Pearison is the Supervisor of Imaging Services at Union Health and a 2018 Ivy Tech graduate. Pearison was also the recipient of Ivy Tech’s 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award.

“Remember to be proud of yourself. When you walk out the doors tonight, as you start your next journey. Never forget where you came from. Never forget where you started,” Pearison said.

Congratulations to the Ivy Tech class of 2022.
