TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A donation will help a local art museum better protect the works inside.
On Wednesday, 100+ Women Who Care Vigo County donated $13,800 to the Swope Art Museum.
This money will go toward a project to replace windows and some doors at the museum.
It’s necessary to preserve and protect art from the outside elements.
“This is an old building and our windows don’t provide the kind of protection for the collection that we need,” says Murray Pate, a member of the board of managers. “We absolutely need the best protection because we have some very, very fine works of art here.”
This donation is one of several the museum has received for the project. Pate says the museum hopes to get work started soon.
