TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – According to Vigo County Dispatch, multiple vehicle crashes have been reported in the county within the last hour likely due to freezing rain on the roadways..

Dispatch recommends to avoid unessential roadway travel until the weather conditions improve.

Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Matt Ames said that ISP is currently working 7 crashes along Interstate 70, Ames confirms two of those accidents having injuries.

Ames suggested that motorists reduce their speed during bad weather. He also said to increase your following distance to allow more time to stop. Ames advised if you do not have to travel to stay home.
