TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man was found guilty of arson nearly two years after setting fire to the Vigo County Community Corrections Center.

A jury Thursday found Jason Morales guilty of the June 2018 fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to the county building.

Investigators found the doorway to the parole office was the only one pried open. According to court records, prior to the fire, Morales was upset at his parole officer for confiscating his laptop.

Morales represented himself in court during the trial.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Feb. 24.
