TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The monthly free breakfasts held by the Secular Franciscans and Friends of Terre Haute will be canceled until further notice due to a fire that took place in the St. Benedict’s Soup Kitchen.
According to Sandy Cline with the OFS, the breakfast that was supposed to be held on Saturday, October 14 has been canceled after the fire that involved the St. Benedict Parish Center where the twice-monthly breakfast is served.
Cline noted that the soup kitchen will be closed until the necessary work is completed and said that they will keep the community informed as to when the breakfast will resume.
According to St. Benedict’s business manager, Terran Williams, the soup kitchen will reopen for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16.
