Linton, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A mobile pantry hopes to help assist those having difficulty keeping food on the table. It will stop in Linton on Monday, August 1. The free event will be at the “Linton Shopping Center” parking lot from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while supplies last.
There are no income, age or other requirements for families and individuals who wish to receive food.
“I know for Greene County we’re really grateful to be able to have this opportunity. Our goal is to feed 200 families and maybe make this a permanent presence in the community,” said organizer Wendy Bailey of Greene County Health Inc.
The food distribution will be drive-thru style, with volunteers helping guide people. It’s sponsored by Greene County Health Inc., Feeding America and Purdue Extension.
